Meanwhile, the stunning, massive Portara on Naxos, part of an unfinished temple possibly to Apollo, but Dionysus was the island patron god, so I agree with scholars who believe it was meant for their special god of the vine and ecstatic revelry.
We also saw the giant Kouros:
And crawled into a Mycenaean domed tomb of an unnamed ruler:
Also a visit to the sanctuary of Demeter, in a serene, fertile valley, fitting for the goddess of fruitfulness.
